Chris and Kaila are planting out of a 75 year old church that has long prayed for and dreamt to send a daughter church to a quickly growing and diverse part of the city. Edmonton, like all major Canadian cities, is becoming less churched each year, providing a unique opportunity to plant a church that is both faithful to the scriptures and passionate about the Great Commission. Our convictions for Christ’s Church stem from the foundation that God deeply loves his church. Jesus gave himself up for the church and is making her a radiant bride. Both Kaila and Chris, along with their three children, Luca (5), Gianna (3), Ezra (1) have been blessed by joyfully anticipating what their children call "church plant Sundays with their friends" as they move toward regular weekly services.
We plan to launch public worship services in September 2024 and are currently working with a core team of around 40 adults and 30 kids. The task before us is to build both deep and wide in keeping with our reformed evangelical roots. We are building deep by holding formation and fellowship groups twice a month and a weekly soup and psalms gathering that has really gained some momentum. One of our members is diligently teaching us about congregational singing! We are also building wide in hosting two community bible studies and a lot of great parties in our neighbourhood this summer! We are both humbled and encouraged by where God is leading our little church plant.
