This week some of our Youth are out serving others throughout the city! Running sports camps, handing out bags of Hope, cleaning communities and sharing the hope and love of God on the streets.
“During Monday Night Evangelism I got the opportunity to serve at the drop-in centre. I was very nervous but God gave me peace and courage through a verse I had read earlier. It follows the line of “Give me courage oh Lord so that you may be exalted” and that prompted me to go serve at the drop in centre. I got to meet Dave, who was not very receptive to what my team member and I were trying to say. There was a moment when I described him as being chosen. He stopped for a minute and asked me what that meant, which caught me by surprise. I didn’t quite know what to say but the Holy Spirit worked through my words and allowed me to explain that while we are still sinners, Christ died for us and affirmed him that it was his choice to die in order to take the place of our sins. It was cool because it felt like he finally connected with what we were saying. Even if the Lord doesn’t do anything with that conversation, it was cool seeing his increasing openness to the point where he took a Bible by the end of our talk. Apart from Jesus, we can do nothing.” -Emma
