What's Your Story?

Wayne Smele
July 27, 2014

#[1 John 1; 1 Timothy 1:12-17; Philippians 3:4-14]# Wayne emphasizes the power of personal stories in revealing God's work. He encourages listeners to reflect on and share their own testimonies, both salvation stories (before Christ, how they found Christ, and life after) and growth stories (identifying an issue, the lesson learned, and their response). Wayne highlights that sharing these authentic experiences, devoid of "church language", can inspire others and foster vulnerability and connection. He challenges the congregation to share their stories within their circles of influence, understanding that their lives may be the only "Bible" some people ever see. Wayne shares personal stories to demonstrate vulnerability and create relatability with the congregation. Henry shares his life story around cancer, with his story around a miraculous healing. Wayne challenges his listeners to also share their stories and celebrate what God has done in their life.
