Position Summary:

This joint venture ministry role between our Disability Ministry and Guest Services Ministry seeks to provide hospitality in an alternative room at Central Campus that is currently utilized for Worship Centre overflow as well as an alternative space for people seeking a more sensory-friendly environment to take in the 11am worship service. As the room host, you will welcome people into this space and help maintain a quiet, peaceful and calm space where people can watch the worship service with soft lighting and low volume, helping guests feel comfortable and respected.

Ministry Vision:

Disability Ministry exists to disciple, equip and invest in children, youth and adults with disabilities - as well as their parents, support workers and volunteers. Guest Services exists to provide Christ-like hospitality during our CSC Worship services through our Greeters, Ushers & Connect Hosts, ensuring every guest is seen, warmly welcomed and helped to get connected into life of CSC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome people warmly into this alternative worship service space
• Facilitate and maintain a quiet, peaceful, calm environment
• Ensure pre-determined room set-up is met (e.g. chairs, tech, lighting, etc.)
• Provide extra items for some worship services to support guests in this space (e.g. communion elements, response cards, etc.)
• Be ready to assist with emergency protocol if/when required (e.g. fire alarm), ensuring these guests exit the room to the closest building exit (South doors) safely, quickly and calmly

Time Commitment:

• Minimum once per month, Sunday mornings, 10:00am-12:30pm

• Comfortable having kind but helpful conversations to ensure the desired environment in this space
