Position Summary:

To invest in the lives of couples by coming alongside them for the purpose of:

• Providing practical and relational principles to grow healthy marriages
• Providing spiritual tools for building Christ centered marriages
• Sharing some of your own learnings that have helped you grow and nurture your marriage through life issues

Ministry Vision:

Marriage Ministry exists to engage, establish, equip, support, and empower God’s people who are both entering into marriage and those in a marriage relationship according to a God- honoring, scripture based way that reflects God’s design and heart for a man and a woman to be in covenant relationship.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Trained in the use of Prepare Enrich inventories. (Training provided)
• Help couples work with their personality strengths and to discuss their differences
• Help couples build bridges of love, hope and respect
• Be willing to share your life experiences and ‘learnings’ and provide practical insights and wisdom to help the couple cultivate oneness
• Submit a summary report to the officiating pastor following your mentoring sessions with a couple.
• Attend Pre-Marriage Workshop #1 & #2

Time Commitment:

• Time commitment is approximately 6-8 hours per couple. Approximately 3-4 couples per year.

Qualifications:

• Married for at least ten years and meet the CSC criteria for marriage. (See Definition of Marriage in Wedding Handbook)
• Be in a life giving relationship with your spouse where respect and honour are lived out in practical ways that model Christ’s love
• Seek to live and grow in accordance with the standards of Scripture. I Timothy 3
• Faithful and consistent in church attendance as part of the CSC community
• Communicate the basics of faith to help couples build spiritually healthy marriages.
• Take the following Discovery courses
• Volunteer Leadership Training (recommended)
• Discover Your Design (recommended)
• Discover Your Church (for church membership)
• Submit a Getting Involved form and sign the Lifestyle Agreement (if not already completed for another ministry)
• Be an active member of CSC (or working toward CSC membership)
