Position Summary:

As a Sports Program Leader in our Community Connections program, you help create a fun and active environment where participants of all abilities can engage in movement and play sports. Your role is to make sports accessible, encouraging everyone to try new things, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team. You will be provided with a curriculum but having an ability to adapt activities to fit individual needs is essential. We aim to promote participation from both participants and their support workers. You encourage the idea that everyone has a role to play whether that’s learning a new skill, cheering each other on, or simply giving something a try. Each day begins with a short devotion, and you will need to be comfortable sharing either a simple, encouraging devotional provided, or creating one that shares a message that helps participants see how God is present in everything we do, including sports. Your leadership helps create a space where movement is joyful, inclusive, and rooted in faith, teamwork, and encouragement.

Our mission is to introduce people to Jesus and help them become fully devoted followers of Him. We do this by discipling, equipping, and investing in children, youth, and adults with disabilities—as well as their parents, support workers, and our volunteers. Through both inclusive and specialized environments, we aim to support the broader church community in making the gospel accessible to everyone. By bridging the gap between the church and the disability community, we strive to foster inclusion, understanding, and spiritual growth for all.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Show Jesus' love to participants
• Support class participants in large group settings
• Build relationships with participants, support workers and other volunteers
• Encourage EVERYONE to be involved at their own level
• Have Fun!

Time Commitment:

• Once per week on Tuesday afternoon
