NCFC - Baking Class Leader

The Baking Class Leader directs a two hour baking class with the goal of helping immigrant women learn to bake things from their homes. The type of baking is flexible but could include cookies, muffins, breads, etc. depending on volunteer and student interests, as well as topics such as healthy baking choices and wise purchasing.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead baking class by teaching students recipes and pertinent techniques
  • Ensure necessary items are on hand, purchase ingredients & supplies, and submit receipts for reimbursement
  • Ensure kitchen is properly cleaned after each class
  • Monitor group dynamics to ensure everyone is welcomed and participates at their comfort level
  • Pray regularly with and for volunteers and group participants
  • Ensure weekly attendance is recorded
  • Report to staff re: “God-Stories”, prayer requests, and emergencies 

Qualifications

  • Understanding of, and agreement with our Statement of Faith, Principles & Beliefs
  • Christ-like love and respect for new immigrants/people of other faiths and cultures
  • Passion for baking/cooking
  • Able to observe and manage healthy group dynamics and resolve conflicts
