Reconciliation Bible Church – Ternopil, Ukraine
Pastor Oleksandr and his wife Ivanna moved to Ternopil in 2014 to begin a new work and plant a new church. This was a huge challenge as fighting had just broken out in Eastern Ukraine. Nevertheless, the Maksymovs persisted and through street evangelism, various evangelistic events and projects, and Bible study groups, a new church was born. In addition to pastoring, Pastor Oleksandr also provides leadership for the youth and family ministries in the wider Ternopil region.
The church holds regular home Bible study groups for teenagers, and for people of all ages who do not know God. They also organize youth meetings and meetings for medical students. They do active social work, regularly distributing food packages to refugees, families with autistic children and low-income families. They organize camps for children, teenagers and families. And they organize events for the Ternopil region.
Now the church is trusting the Lord for additional funding for a bigger space in which to meet. Pastor Oleksandr is working towards raising up more leaders for youth ministry, uniting churches in youth work, and organizing events, training, conferences and retreats which will minister to the many families in crisis in their region.
