Deeper: Hearing God's Voice for Yourself and Others

calendar Wed, September 11
clock 6:45 PM
location Central

One of the core ways for Christians to deepen their relationship with God is to learn to hear His voice for themselves and for others. This is what the Bible calls the gift and ministry of prophecy and it is used to encourage, strengthen and comfort the family of God. This is best practiced in the safety of spiritual community and in alignment with God’s Word.

In this sixteen-session journey, you will receive Biblically grounded teaching and practically engage with the Persons of the Trinity through worship and listening-to-God exercises. Light homework of Deeper manual chapter reading and practice of hearing God’s voice is required in between sessions. As each session builds onto the next, we are unable to accommodate late registrants or provide refunds after the registration deadline. Please make your own childcare arrangements as childcare is not provided.

Testimonies of former Deeper participants

Torren:

Hearing God’s voice for myself and others sounds scary, risky, and even impossible, but let us remember this: “…[His] power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12:9a).

I came to Depper skeptical, guarded, and fearful, but I had a longing in my heart to hear God’s voice, to know His voice as the sheep know the voice of the shepherd. Starting each session in worship and grounding myself in the word of God provided the perfect context to notice what that still small voice was saying. The Holy Spirit, the counsellor is living in us, not just for the Sunday service, but in each and every moment of our lives.

Setting aside intentional space to let Him work has brought me such joy and confidence in the power of our mighty God. Our breakout group quickly became tightknit, and that safe space with other godly and Spirit-filled people encouraged me to grow in confidence. The practice of abiding and prayerfully considering the words that I speak has transformed my everyday life. The tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21) and when my words are led by the Holy Spirit, rather than the flesh, the difference is life and death.

Thanks to all the Deeper team for your prayerful submission to our mighty God as you listened and shared His word in worship, scripture, and encouragement.

Amy:

While anticipating the start of Deeper, I was most excited about hearing God’s voice for others so that I could be a blessing to those around me. What I did not anticipate was to be blown away by the incomparable treasure it has been to let the Holy Spirit take me on a journey with Him to deeper, more beautiful places that I could ever have imagined.

To know the voice of my creator and to let Him speak words of life, love and healing over me, has completely shifted the way I think. To be a part of sharing these transformative words with others is even better than I imagined, but the absolute treasure of beholding Jesus and having deeper relationship with Him is truly invaluable. “…Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Cor 3:17b)
