Did you knowDid you know Did you know?Centre Street Church is one church in many locations. Each weekend, over 8900 people gather in five locations and online across Calgary and Airdrie to worship and learn about Jesus. Centre Street Church has allocated millions of dollars to support organizations and communities that serve people in need in our communities, in our country and all around the world. We help people in deepest need through our Centre for the City. We will be celebrating the grand opening of our new facility through a Ribbon Cutting and speeches at 10:45 a.m. at the Community Fun Day, Sept 28. Since we first opened the doors to our new Centre for the City facility, we’ve seen a stark increase in visits with, a monthly average of 1333 visits from people coming to the Well Café for food and a place to belong. Additionally, we see an average of 544 people coming for clothing support, 610 boxed lunches distributed and nearly 300 hampers distributed each month. Our Centre for the City is also seeing a monthly average of 336 visits from new Canadians attending around 45-60 classes and courses offered each month, such as ESL, cooking, baking and citizenship classes where they can connect, learn more about life in Canada and make new friends. We provide needed community resources; our church facilities have supported local municipalities in many capacities from providing polling stations during elections to emergency reception centres during crises (e.g. 2013 Alberta Floods). We are one of Canada’s only churches to provide faith-based emotional, spiritual and social support for over hundreds of people with special needs and their families.
Opportunities to get involvedOpportunities to get involved Curious to know who we are and other opportunities to get involved? This fall we have a variety of opportunities to get connected with a community of people who live to love and learn more about Jesus. On the first weekend of each month, we hold services designed especially for people seeking meaning and curious about Jesus.
