The Ark Orphanage – Novovolynsk, Ukraine
The Ark Orphanage is a haven of peace and restoration for many lost and disadvantaged children in Ukraine. In the span of 20 years 158 children have been rescued from the most desperate circumstances and brought to this place of rest and safety. At the Ark children are immersed in a home-like environment where they are clothed, fed, encouraged to develop in their abilities, and given an opportunity to learn about God. Some of the kids are eventually able to return to their original home but many others live out their entire childhood at the Ark.
Through the years 21 children have made professions of faith and been baptized. Once they have grown and created families of their own, some of the children (now adults) return to the Ark to minister to the kids that are there. The Ark’s ministry also extends to parents of these children, many of whom have major problems and addictions and some of whom make professions of faith and begin attending church.
The Vakulinas ask that we pray for the salvation of the people of Ukraine and for the restoration of the nation. Pray for the salvation of the children staying at the Ark as well as deliverance for the parents (many of whom are fighting addictions to drugs and alcohol). Pray also that God would supply the material and financial needs of the Ark Orphanage.
