Global Ministries Advocacy Lead
Ministry Vision:
Global Ministries exists to introduce people to Jesus and help our congregation to become fully devoted followers of Jesus around the world. We do this PRIMARILY THROUGH THE LOCAL CHURCH; locally, nationally, and internationally.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Global Ministries Identity and Missions understanding
- Learn the breadth of Global Ministries engagement and practices
- Research and recommendations – aging executive leader Partner Succession
- Missions understanding – MissioNexus webinars, books, articles
Prayer:
- Develop prayer team
- Engage prayer group leads
- New ways to engage prayer research and recommendations
Congregational Engagement:
- Serve on GM weekend
- Shadow one on ones with congregational enquiries
- Young adult mission trip tracking
- NOW
Partner engagement:
- Mission presence Mexico retreat Sept 22-25
- Shadow lay team meetings – GW care and interviews, meet and greets, agency interviews, project funding
- Shadow partner conversations
Time Commitment:
"Equivalent of one full day”, including a presence at Global Ministry weekends (~ 8 hrs/wk)
Qualifications:
Skills essential for success in this Role are:
- A heart for global missions
- An understanding of the importance discipleship plays in our partner relationships and readiness for discipling conversations in the context of missions Ability to listen
- Mentor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an Ability to invite others into the story of missions with clear and compelling communication
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to supervise volunteers
