In North Africa there are thousands of refugees, and many are women and children who have left their husbands and fathers behind to protect their communities. A note from a partner.
Doors have opened wide to reach many communities asking for ongoing menstrual health teaching. While our friends ensure accurate health teaching their focus is building relationship with women which lead to deeper conversations. By the end of 2024 this team anticipates they will connect with approximately 5K refugee women.

“Next time we meet, I want to talk about God,” said a young woman from North Africa to one of our staff. They met at a Menstrual Health training session and afterwards in a coffee shop. Every single woman wanted to sit and share their heartaches, challenges, and life stories.
The drive was far to a refugee community on the outskirts of the main city, the circumstances new, and the safety uncertain. But the training was well received, like always.
A woman who lived across the street ran home, prepared coffee, incense, and snacks and ran back to invite us to her apartment. As we entered, the smell of incense greeted us. In the room there were 7 women, all from Unreached areas, all came without their husbands, most with children, but all thankful to be safe. A beautiful manner of the woman’s culture is that they are not complainers. They grew up with the saying Praise God.
These are strong women, sharing hard stories but repeat the same words Praise God after almost every sentence. The women inquired of the health worker if she was a Christian. When she said yes, two women shared they went to a church and were given a CD and a Bible but they don’t know how to read it. “Can we meet again, with the Bible and CD, and you help us understand it?” “Yes, of course,” was the answer.
“Lord, reveal yourself to these women, as we give whatever we have in our hands. Show us your glory!”
